For 42 years, Dr. Bobby T.
Newman has been a dedicated and successful pastor of Citizens of Zion Missionary
Baptist Church, located in Compton, California.
Born in Boyton, Oklahoma, he
received his early years of education in Oklahoma. After moving to
Los Angeles, California at the age of 12, he continued and completed
his formal years of education. A graduate of Reed Christian College,
he holds a Bachelor of Theology Degree, an Honorary Doctor of
Divinity and served as Dean of Students for many years.
Among the many various
positions Dr. Newman has held throughout the State and National
Conventions, he has served as President of the California State
Baptist Convention, and Vice President of the Evangelistic Class of
the National Congress of Christian Education.
For 53 years, he has been
married to Charmaine Newman. A father of 6 children, grandfather of
21, and great-grandfather of 22, some of his most enjoyable and
memorable moments are those spent with his family.
A servant of God whose thrust
is that of saving souls as pastor, Dr. Newman has led the Citizens
of Zion Missionary Baptist Church with continued progress and growth
both spiritually and numerically. With 15 Administrators that
consist of over 90 ministries, much has been accomplished under his
leadership.
As a great gospel preacher
and dynamic bible teacher, Dr. Newman is known nationally as a
humble, sincere, spirit-filled, God-fearing and devoted servant of
God who firmly believes, "....all things work together for good
to them that love God, to them who are called according to His
purpose." (Rom 8:28)

As an anointed servant of God, I am recognized
locally and nationally as a gospel preacher, pastor, bible teacher,
organizer and leader. My desire is to share what God has given me to
edify the souls of men. My motto is: "I am HELPLESS without Christ,
POWERLESS without His Spirit and UNARMED without His Word."
