Pastor
Charles R. Jones was born in the great state of Louisiana, and
as teenager moved to Los Angeles, California. In 1982 he
accepted Christ at the St. Reed Missionary Baptist Church, under
the leadership of Pastor Leman Jenkins. Pastor Jones accepted
his call to the Ministry under the leadership of Dr. W. Jerome
Fisher, of Little Zion Missionary Baptist Church, in Compton,
Ca., where he was a member for approximately 14 years.
Pastor
Jones, was elected as the Pastor of the St. Reed Missionary
Baptist Church, November 9th 2001. He preached his first message
as Pastor on December 9th 2001. He comes to us from the Peoples
Mission Baptist Church in Long Beach, California., where he
served as the Assistant Pastor under the Reverend Willie F.
Wilson, Pastor.
Pastor
Jones attended Bethany Christian Bible College, and completed
his studies with honors in June 2002. Pastor Jones, is a gifted
and anointed expositor of God’s Word and has a heart for the
people of God. His past and/or present affiliations include
Baptist Minister Conference of Los Angeles and Southern
California, Bethany Bible College, Chaplin for the Sheriff
Station in the City of Carson, African American Disciples
Summit, and along with time he donate to a variety of other
organization.
He is
married to the lovely L. Joyce Jones and they are the proud
parents of three sons Mrs. Jones has a compassionate heart and a
love for God and her husband. She is a delight to meet, with a
pleasant personality and a love for
our youth. She firmly believes that our future is in our youth.

STATEMENT
OUR MISSION IS TO MAKE DISCIPLES FOR JESUS
CHRIST, AS WE TEACH AND LIVE THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST IN THE
CONTEXT OF OUR CONVERSATION, AND DOCTRINAL BELIEFS. WE BELIEVE
IN THE TRIUNE GOD HEAD (GOD THE FATHER, GOD THE SON, AND GOD THE
HOLY GHOST), THEREFORE WE BELIEVE IN THE WRITTEN WORD OF GOD
(THE HOLY BIBLE). WE STRIVE TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER AS CHRIST HAS
COMMANDED, THAT BY LOVING ONE ANOTHER MEN WILL KNOW WE ARE HIS
DISCIPLES. WITH GOD'S GUIDENCE, WE CLAIM THE VICTORY THROUGH
JESUS THE CHRIST AS WE ARE SEALED BY THE HOLY GHOST UNTIL THE
DAY OF REDEMPTION.

The Saint
Reed Missionary Baptist Church was organized December 24, 1944,
Christmas Eve. At 1546 East 25th Street, Los Angeles, Calif.
Under Rev. Abrams Shorts, Pastor and Founder. Eighteen (18)
members were the
count at the end of the day.
March 8th
1972, Rev. Abrams Shorts, Pastor and Founder went home to be
with the Lord. In 1972 Rev. Leman Jenkins was chosen as our
Pastor & Leader. We have worked hard under the leadership of
Pastor, Leman Jenkins. Pastor Jenkins retired January, 1999. In
June, 2000
we bid farewell to Pastor Jenkins, for his leadership of 28
years of service.
We were
without a Pastor for approximately 2 years., On November 9, 2001
the Church voted for Rev. Charles R. Jones, to be the next
Pastor, of St. Reed Missionary Baptist Church.
